They flexed slightly to the point where I was afraid they would.
These tools are not suitable for pumpkins. They bent easily to the point where I was concerned they would break during use. One of them broke off while cutting. Neither of these tools are designed to cut holes in a pumpkin like cheap chainsaws do. I wanted this set so I could carve the pumpkin without breaking the surface to see through, so I didn't need some saw tools, although one would have been nice. All in all, they looked very pretty, but weren't made to withstand the pressure of a tough pumpkin skin.
