I already have two Heroes. Hero3 and HeroLCD. I spent over $1,000 on two cameras with full accessories. To be honest I bought this Akaso thinking it was just a stone's throw away. Instead, it became my go-to camera. I ride a motorcycle, both on the highway and off-road. A simple two-button remote control is cool. The last thing you want when you're diving into a corner at over 100mph is the distraction of trying to figure out if the camera is recording while you're trying to practice your technique on the track. There are times when I don't want to capture continuous video with friends during a day of tough singletrack and goat trails, just a random single shot of a stunning mountaintop view, or a burst shot of a difficult obstacle and switching between modes is just as easy as easy it is to press one of the two buttons compared to the menu that you have to navigate on the hero. Batteries change quickly, video is as good as the LCD Hero and even better than the original Hero 3. I give my buddies two Heroes, but I always keep the Akaso to myself as it's the most reliable. , easy to use and shoots the best video. I can't think of a single negative. Two batteries together will survive both heroes. The hero has a prettier menu and a few more features, but I don't do TV shows, I just want pure video or footage and don't miss all the extra steps you have to take when setting it up. I don't normally give such a generally positive review, but given that a new hero will cost you $400, then add accessories, a few cases, SD cards and up to $500. For $125 you can get Akaso AND a well stocked kit, it's pretty easy to make. As soon as the current batteries in the hero are empty, I simply buy more Akaso. Each other's misadventures have become a regular part of our weekend getaways, and everyone needs copies. I couldn't think of a better way to end the day.
