I had been looking for a notebook to keep handy for making notes and jotting down miscellaneous ideas and the Wanderings Notebook Journal filled the bill. It is so simple and clever and at a pretty good price. The only thing I didn't like that much was the cord with the leather bit that held the journal closed and that you pulled out of the way to open. The cord was short enough so that it got in the way of keeping the journal flat so I could easily write on both sides of the page. So I untied the cord and removed it, leaving it available if I wanted to use it again. Then I got a piece of 1 inch wide braided elastic tape from a fabric store and, using hot glue, made a band with a little loop to hold my pen. While I have to completely remove the band to use it and I know part of the convenience of the journal for some people is to just flip off the cord and write, this works better for me. I didn't take any stars off for this little modification because it is just a personal preference. I highly recommend this journal.
