Not suitable for adult foot size 9. Had to try.
I bought these for myself (a man in his 40's wearing size 8.5W-9.5W shoes) because men's socks are too big for the foot. The heel always peeks out from under the top of the shoe. SLT house they fit snugly around the foot they actually fit on. But they are very tight around the lower part of the leg.
