This is an aftermarket starter motor that is a perfect match for my 1994 Polaris 400L. it worked perfectly for months and still works. but be careful. A new starter that is OEM costs $389.99. So if you buy it for $35, don't expect $389.99 quality. I have a second one because one of the bolts in the body broke and it started to fall apart. I put it back together and will get a new bolt so I have a spare but didn't hesitate to go to Amazon and buy another one for $35. It's worth it even if I have to hunt down some class 8 metric screws
