Perfect for my home office

I've been using a docking station and USB switch for years to easily switch between a work laptop and a home computer. I couldn't find an inexpensive audio solution because I could run two audio cables and manually switch the audio source, although this usually involved moving monitors and other awkward tasks. Thanks to working from home due to Covid alone this has become more painful so I decided to look again for a solution and it was available. It justified my excitement to find that switching audio inputs becomes very easy without sacrificing sound quality. It also has an easily accessible mute button and volume control. Since my keyboard is in a drawer that tends to slide back under the desk, which doesn't stop me from typing but might force me to pull it out to see/use some special keyboard keys, so I tend to use those to use mute button more than one button on my keyboard or software. I also like the range and smoothness of the volume control and I set the speakers to 90% and the software to 100% and then used that knob to adjust the volume. It looks like a solid, well-made product, with performance indicative of a mature product.

Pros
  • A mute button; very handy in special environments
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Volume knob seems fishy, terrible background noise if two cords are plugged in
