GREAT paper for printing drawings with colored pencils!

I was trying to find good paper to print illustrations to color in (mostly with colored pencils). This was difficult as many of the heavier color cardstocks don't have the right texture (and perforation) to handle significant color layering very well (after layering a few colors the crayon pigment and wax just started to clump together). and glue together, which looks very bad). But with digital parchment, I think I've found a winner! The texture and tooth of the paper is really good but with a much better weight. I think Vellum's tooth is actually better as it's much better at layering multiple colors on top of each other. The only real downside I can point out is that at 80# it's not as stiff as the cardboard I originally tried. but it is still strong enough to withstand painting. I have reprinted a number of images onto digital parchment and my printer (HP OfficeJet 8710) has handled it very well. There were paper feed issues a couple of times, but all I had to do was flip the top sheet into the tray and it worked. (Perhaps it would have been better if I had chosen the Plain Heavy Paper type instead.) I tried attaching an image I had printed onto digital parchment with my inkjet printer and started coloring in, but I don't think so that they liked what. So you just have to believe me, I was able to get the best skin tone on this paper than any other. With other papers, skin tones were particularly tricky, since you have to apply multiple different colors to get a nice, rich color (and then apply even more layers for shadows and highlights). and most other papers I've tried showed clumps and balls of colored crayon after about three coats. This effect is particularly noticeable with light colors (like peach, beige, and pink that fade into the skin tone). When I tried the same skin tone color combo on another paper I was trying, you saw clumps and uneven colored pencils, especially in the darker, shaded areas of the skin tones, but it didn't help. happens with digital parchment! Even after half a dozen coats of paint, there was still enough teeth left on the paper so it wouldn't smear and clump when I ran a colorless pen over it. Parchment Victory!
