They are waterproof and to try it I put my hand in the water and it was great. so that they can also be worn in the snow - they fit well. The size I ordered fits me very well. it's a really tight fit. A small downside to these gloves is that they don't fit very snugly around the wrist. If so, they would be even better. That's the only reason the rating is down one star.
