Bought these for winter windsurfing in New England. The first time I pulled them out in 30 degrees I knew they wouldn't cut. The cuffs are fairly loose which means cold water can easily get in. Also, they don't offer much insulation at all. My hands froze very quickly and I was used to temperatures below 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, these gloves started falling apart after a few sessions, so durability is a big issue, especially on the palms. On the other hand, if you buy them according to the size chart, the gloves are quite comfortable. As mentioned, the cuffs were loose, but the arms themselves fitted well. Also, these gloves are quite soft so they don't cause "hand pumping". Look for surf gloves, stay away from these. They don't offer much benefit to surfers and are much less warm than rivals (e.g. Xcel). The only reason you should buy these is if you want to maximize mobility within the limits of what neoprene has to offer, but at the expense of warmth.
