Tecsun DR-920C is an excellent radio station. Excellent radio for listening to AM, FM and shortwave signals. I have 3 other Tecsun radios so I know their radios very well. I would say that the Tecsun radios have earned a reputation for being very good radios. I put Dr-920C in radio sensitivity and selectivity comparison with Tecsun PL-606. The 606 costs almost twice as much as the 920 and has more features. Big difference between radios; 606 is a DSP digital signal processing radio, 920 is a double conversion superheterodyne radio. In terms of tuning, the 920 is more like an analogue radio with a digital display. The conditions for this test were at 4:00 p.m., a temperature of about 85 degrees and a humidity of about 20 percent. The reason I mention conditions, time of day, temperature and humidity can greatly affect the propagation of radio waves. For example, we have a station in our area that is a low power 10W transmitter station. Reception is considered a border area or area where this station is difficult to receive. In dry, warm weather, this transmitter is received reasonably well by Tecsun DSP radios. In cooler, wet weather, the station will still be received, but at a much lower level. My comparison results. The 920 received as many AM stations as the 606, 31 stations. The 920 received 44 FM stations and the 606 received 47 FM stations. The 920th received 19 shortwave stations, the 606th received the same number. This is where a $25 radio can compete with a $40 radio in terms of sensitivity. The 606 had better selectivity (the ability to reject unwanted signals) than the 920 because it was a DSP radio. I would still attribute good selectivity to the 920. For the money, the DR-920C is good value. The operation of the radio is quite intuitive. You insert batteries and can listen to the radio. There are no instructions on how to set the alarm and time. I followed the given instructions EXACTLY, I couldn't set the alarm or time as the destruction indicated. TO SET TIME, PRESS AND HOLD THE TIME SETTING BUTTON, PRESS THE CLOCK BUTTON TO SET THE HOUR, THEN PRESS THE MINUTE BUTTON TO SET THE MINUTES. SET ALARM: PRESS AND HOLD THE SET BUTTON, THEN PRESS THE HOUR AND MINUTE BUTTONS AGAIN TO SET THE ALARM TIME. THE SLEEP FUNCTION SHOULD BE SET BY QUICKLY AND REPEATEDLY PRESSING THE SLEEP BUTTON. I tried that several times and it didn't work. The manual mentions a lock button. THERE IS NO SUCH BUTTON ON THIS RADIO. IT'S AS IF WHO PUT THE MANUAL TOGETHER, CUT IT AND APPLIED THE MANUAL TO A RADIO OTHER THAN THE DR-920C.
