First off, this EDUP AX-1500 product looks great. While it's not artistic like other expensive mesh routers, the cube-shaped white casing makes it look like common household items like boxes around the house. So it can be mixed with everything in the house, so you can put it anywhere. Without protruding antennas, like most WiFi routers, nobody would pay much attention to it. I really like the look but I understand these are just my personal preferences. Technically speaking, this router is extremely easy to set up. Unlike other WiFi routers that load to 192.168.1.1 by default, this router loads to 192.168.20.1, making it unlikely to conflict with existing routers in the home. Once connected to 192.168.20.1, only a few steps are required to make the router fully functional: 1. Change the default WiFi router names for 2.4G and 5G if the default names are not desired; 2. enter the router administrator password; 3. Enter the WiFi password. After the restart, the router is fully functional. When the side WAN cable is connected to an Internet modem/router, Wi-Fi Internet is available for devices connected to that Wi-Fi router. This wireless router only takes 5 minutes to set up and operate. In my case I already have another WiFi 6 router (AX-1800) from another EasyMesh certified vendor. It acts as the main router and controller of the mesh network. To join the mesh network, I first enable mesh mode on my main router, which in turn connects to the internet through the WAN port. I then use my phone to log into the EDUP AX-1500 at 192.168.20.1. From the More menu, choose Grid, then turn on Grid mode. The next step is to press the WPS button on the main router AX-1800 and then the WPS button on the EDUP AX-1500. After a while both flashing lights stop flashing, they are paired. The key to simplifying the pairing process is to place both routers next to each other so they have a strong signal to pair with. Once paired, the EDUP AX-1500 Agent Router can be disconnected and moved to a convenient location for normal use. I have a two story 4000sf house, I use 3 cheap WiFi 6 routers so I don't have a weak WiFi signal anywhere in the house. Based on the Windows 10 WiFi 6 adapter hardware characteristics display, the connection speed can be from 600Mbps to 1201Mbps and mostly 921Mbps with 4 computers and 7 other devices like printers, tablets and mobile phones in mesh networks . All devices have the maximum WiFi signal strength anywhere in the house. Also, the Internet Speed Test shows the Internet speed of the provider from any device. As a result, the speed is not lost even after passing through several routers in a mesh network. It is the ideal Wi-Fi solution for home use. EDUP's customer support is excellent! When I had an issue with an EDUP AX-1500 router randomly rebooting, a new replacement router was shipped to me very quickly. Thanks Cathy for your quick response and support. For most home WiFi needs, using the EDUP AX-1500 routers in mesh mode is an excellent choice. It's good value for money so highly recommended. Suggestions for future improvements: 1. Allow editing of device names2. In Mesh Agent mode, the device list currently shows the MAC addresses of the connected devices, but no device names or IP addresses. Nice to see device names and IP addresses in addition to MAC addresses. 04/30/2021 Update: Exceptional customer support. Earlier this week my main AX-1800 router from another manufacturer forced a firmware update which caused the mesh network to stop working. Every morning I have to manually restore the previous version of the firmware. The other provider doesn't even support stopping the automatic firmware update. Cathy from EDUP Customer Service offers a solution that goes beyond her own product! She gives me another EDUP AX-1500 to replace my other vendor's AX-1800 router just to keep my mesh network running. That's excellent customer service. What a great contrast! This is the supplier/seller you'd love to come back to for more! I would like to give EDUP customer service 10 stars.
