I had an Edge 520+ before this device and its navigation features just didn't work for mountain biking. So I bought this device for its touted mountain bike-friendly features. I was hoping that one of those features would be improved navigation for mountain biking. NOT CORRECT! I'm having the following issues with a Traiforks or Garmin Connect route loaded onto my device. The device does not show me the direction to turn, even if "Turn Assistant" is activated. Turn - "0ft for Turn X" - Map guidance is not displayed when "Navigate Map" is set to "When navigating" - Just yesterday when navigating a loaded route "Navigating to home route?" prompt appeared - So much more. It's still good for trip data collection - on average. speed, heart rate etc, so I use it for that too. It also works well for those who work on the go. Before purchasing this device, please read the Garmin forums before deciding if it's right for you.
