Nice but deep cuts.

I often use nail stamps. This is a good way to add some shine to your nails without much effort. But there is a learning curve with proper technique etc. That being said I have tried many different brands and cymbals so I would say I know what a good cymbal looks like, feels like and performs. I was a little nervous. about these cymbals because they don't have the plastic backing that many quality cymbals have. This usually helps with stability when scraping and picking up polish. But I have some great non-plastic liner cymbals, so that's not all. Surprisingly these plates are quite thick and strong. I had no issues with flexing or flexing when scratching or when pressing my stamp on the cymbals. So I would say they will last for many years. The plates offer a variety of designs for the holiday season. But there are also models that can be used at other times of the year. There are stars, round patterns, chevrons, etc. I received these plates at the end of winter, so I didn't have a chance to use Christmas patterns, but I've tried others. My 6 year old daughter loves stars and has asked me several times to put them on her nails. They have a cute and stylish design, so whether you want to create a cute design or just want to add a simple design to your plain colored nails to keep them stylish, you can do it with these plates. My biggest complaint is that the drawings are clipped. deep in bowls. Therefore, more polishing is required to properly fill in the design. For this reason, the paint also needs some time to "dry". If you scratch and try to pick up the design quickly, it will spread over the stamp and not transfer to the nail. Allowing the polish to dry for about 20 seconds will pick up and transfer the design nicely (in case anyone is wondering, I use a regular Clear Jelly Stamper, which is semi-soft and not too hard). Since the drawings appear to be deeper, be careful with the scraping tool as well. Scratching too hard will create imperfections on the smooth, straight edge of your tool. Overall I think this is a good plate set for holiday decorating. I'd say it takes a bit of getting used to because the design isn't superficial. But if you take your time and know what you're doing, you shouldn't have any trouble with these records!
