Old 1070 had overheating issues playing BL3. I made a large thermal pad so the circuit board touches the backplate through the pad. I also swapped out the VRM and VRAM thermal pads on the front panel. The thermal pad came in the mail and there was a large crease on the protective film, the pad in between was not damaged. 1-2mm of silicon was chipped off near the edge, probably from shipping and handling. Both could have been avoided if the notebook had been supplied with a cardboard insert and non-foldable stickers.
