I only write reviews when I've had an extraordinary or horrible experience. This falls into the category of extraordinary experiences. I use this with DISH Hopper 3 with Sling. Setup was very easy. All I had to do was connect the USB cable to the DVR and this external drive and then reboot the DVR. Once the DVR restarted, the setup guide appeared. No adapters or anything else is needed other than what is included in the box (USB and eSATA cables included). My DVR required a USB connection. All you have to do is format your friend and you're good to go. The storage space is huge and the external drive is so quiet that you hardly hear it. Transferring files between the DVR and an external drive is easy. Even the sort settings from the DVR to that drive are preserved. This is necessary if you want to expand your storage space. I am planning to buy one to use with my Windows desktop after seeing the performance of this product with my DVR.
