Review on πŸ”§ Mityvac MV6835 Brake and Clutch Bleeding Kit - Premium Pneumatic Air Operated, Variable Control Thumb Throttle, Quick Connect Coupler, 1.9 Quart Reservoir by Chad Gomez

Small design flaws. So I made some adjustments

Immediately. The moment I hooked it up to the compressor, the valve you use to turn the air on or off leaked in the closed position. It was leaking from that valve, when you touched it with your finger you could feel the compressed air escaping, and aside from the air escaping through the exhaust, it was obviously a poorly executed design. So I first tightened the screws on each side and sure enough, that didn't work. So I took the on/off valve apart and saw that there was a rubber o-ring on one end of the valve, so I smeared it with some 10w-30, put it back together and bled still in the closed position. The device worked fine as far as bleeding the brakes, I have a 33 gallon manual air compressor, max 150psi and 150psi goes to pump. The air leak was unacceptable but I didn't want to return the unit so I improvised as I usually do with other things. All I bought was a 1/4" lever-action ball valve and a 1/4" double-threaded brass fitting. Where the original on/off valve was, I used a 1/4" stainless steel bolt about 2 1/2" long with two washers and a nut. I drilled 2 holes in the center of the bolt, roughly where the holes originally lined up in the exhaust valve, and used a shim tool on either side of the washers. After I assembled everything, tightened the nut, I cut access to the bolt flush with the nut, then added more spacers to seal everything. Now works as it should. For this reason I give 3 stars. I really don't know how everyone who bought this didn't have this problem. So please be careful, you will most likely face the same problem as me.
