The product solves my specific problem better than anything I have tried (or seen). I need controlled humidity in a room of the house and wanted to avoid topping up every few days. This humidifier does both: it keeps the air at 45% to 50%, and when paired with a nearly 5-gallon tank, it lasts 7+ days. I live in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona - that's a great achievement. I have purchased a second unit which will allow me to take a two week vacation. Freedom! The humidity can be set between 40 and 90%. Using tap water can cause mineral dust to build up on nearby items. Wood tools and sensitive electronics won't pick up dust. I use distilled water from a delivery service. At the moment, three 5-gallon bottles per month are sufficient; costs about $25 here at Phx.
