Do Not Buy - Bluetooth Keyboard/Case

– 8.25.19 The Bluetooth connection keeps dropping. The only way to reconnect is to turn your iPad off and on again. In addition, the shortened shift key makes efficient typing considerably more difficult for right-handers. Downgrade from 4 to 1 star. I sent the device back. Original Post I mainly use my iPad Pro 11β€³ for work, so this case caught my eye with its swivel mount and backlit keyboard. I've upgraded from Apple's 11 inch folio iPad Pro case and so far so good. Pros: The iPad case/holder fits snugly, perfect for keeping your investment safe. The keyboard feels responsive to your typical keyboard movement/jump with a full-sized keyboard. Rotating is good when you need to show someone visually what you're looking at. I like that it snaps back into place once you move the alignment back to the 0 or 180 degree points. The open cutout for the Apple Pencil is convenient for those using the accessory. The keyboard backlight is a nice touch with a purple to blue to green color gradient. There are 3 different brightness levels. I keep it on the lowest setting to ensure enough power between charges. The keyboard comes with an on/off switch if you're really worried about power consumption. The sleep-wake feature works by closing or opening like you would expect from other covers or folios. Cons: Bluetooth pairing took a little longer than mine. expected. I'm very tech savvy and wanted to put the keyboard in pairing mode and pair quickly in the iPad settings. It didn't, so after a few tries I grabbed the manual and they made a note of turning the iPad off and on again and then trying to pair it. I did it and it worked. Not sure why, but they pointed it out in the troubleshooting section. The swivel joint feels stiff. You have to make a little more effort to turn. I hope this is due to the "novelty factor" and will eventually work. The Shift key on the right has given up space to provide a full-size up arrow key. While writing this review, I accidentally pressed the up key instead of the shift key multiple times. This will take some getting used to, but won't break the agreement. Bye. The area around the keyboard is glossy. The first thing I thought of was the iPhone 7 Jet Black. Lots of fingerprints and looks prone to scratches although I haven't scratched mine at the moment. The final oddity is on the bottom of the case. You will typically see a label on most electronic products that says "wireless keyboard" and the type of power supply. It lacks the UL/CE/FCC labels showing it has passed those approvals. I grabbed my old suitcase and of course they are in place. I don't think he went through that process or straight from China. Future request: I would like this case to be powered by the iPad like Apple cases do. I need to connect my iPad and case separately using USB-C cables. Luckily I have two of these at home, so that's not a problem. But when I'm at work, I usually only care about one thing in my backpack. All in all: A solid Bluetooth keyboard/case for the euro amount. If anything changes I will definitely update this review.
