I was initially skeptical about this oil filter wrench design but to be honest I've now decided to go for it as I don't have easy access to the oil filter or problems with removal. I have yet to fail in removing the oil filter as I use it daily in the body shop. It should only be used when you are changing the oil filter as it can damage the outer oil filter housing that you are removing. My only issue is that it can be a bit tricky to position and hold the tool on the filter. into position, turning the supplied wrench/ratchet counter-clockwise. In areas where you don't have a lot of space to work, it will take a few tries as the tool will rotate in the wrong direction and may open (release filters). You can twist it into position to firmly seat/clamp the oil filter, but if you make a sudden movement with the wrench/ratchet in the wrong direction it will come loose and you'll have to start over. May be annoying for some or not a problem for others. All in all a great tool that replaces several oil filter tools. Does the job it's supposed to.
