Sweet Sushi Date Night Set

Super nice sushi set. This was a great starter kit for making sushi at home. My only concern is that the bamboo grains will run down the rice paddle and make it difficult to clean - my sponge definitely gets sticky and makes cleaning difficult. I think it would be helpful to have cleaning instructions in the kit or on the box. All of this feels like great quality. I'd like to know what is the purpose of the grooves on the actual serving tray - to trap moisture/create airflow? I generally recommend!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS. We highly recommend hand washing the bamboo sushi tray, bamboo mat and bamboo chopsticks with a light sponge, soap and water, rinsing and air drying until completely dry. Do not put bamboo products directly into the fire. Ceramic cookware is safe to put in the microwave or dishwasher.
