I've looked at many expensive mounting options and settled on this one because it does the same thing as more expensive brands. I deliberately chose the folding version. If you install a camera and buy a non-jointed version, the camera may not point straight ahead. There would be no easy way to adjust the angle of this mount to fit the camera. I don't think the top mount is as tight as I would like. If water enters, the upper unit will twist on the bracket and may fall off. For this reason, I bind my devices to the steering wheel. I am giving 4 stars for ease of installation as installation is mostly easy but no instructions are included. That may seem difficult to some. Otherwise 5 stars because I think it's reliable and worth every penny.
