Revainrating 5 out of 5

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

I took it to organize a bridge (so as not to pull a cable into another room) and distribute wifi. The server is a separate machine. It copes with its task perfectly, except that it does not raise the bridge with devices from other manufacturers. Therefore, I bought hap Lite. With him, the bridge rose instantly. Gives out 10-11mb/s (80-90mb/s). At the same time, the channel width is set to 20 Mhz (not 40), but the speed can be developed thanks to its proprietary wireless communication protocols. I don’t use it as a full-fledged Internet access point due to the lack of openvpn via udp (I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to add Router Os, promises are already 5 years old or more) and wireguard. But that's more of my quibbles. 90% of users of the functionality of Router Os will have enough with their heads and even more. I absolutely do not understand the point of buying routers from other manufacturers in this price category. The lack of external antennas is also a little depressing. This would reduce the power and increase the sensitive (and radius) wifi. But if you have direct hands and desire, you can easily screw the antennas from the router to it (for example, I have a non-working tp-link tw941nd lying around with 8dbi antennas, which were purchased separately. They will be attached to the router. Otherwise, I advise the purchase.

Pros
  • 1. Stability. 2. Wide possibilities. The ability to fully customize to fit your capabilities (for your money, of course). 3. Presence of proprietary wireless transmission protocols
Cons
  • 1. No openvpn over udp 2. Lack of external antennas. With their presence, it would be possible to reduce the power and increase the sensitivity. At high power, the air will be noisy, and without antennas, the router does not "hear" phones with their weak transmitter well. 3. There is no way to set up a bridge with other routers (there was no bridge on dd-wrt or openwrt)
