Review on Fellowes 6M5 Powershred Micro Cut Deskside by Daniel Postle

This item is exactly the same as on the Revain site. I received it 2 days after ordering (5 days free shipping) - 3 days earlier. Everything works perfectly, there was no damage during delivery. Mine was sent by USPS. It does an excellent job of micro-shredding regular paper (letters, carbon paper, utility reports, other bills). Also great for micro shredding credit/debit/insurance cards. The only thing it hasn't completely destroyed is a postal envelope sized sheet of plastic containing insurance cards and some other plastic cards that you have to cut cards out of - the same plastic as the cards. Sometimes he makes lots of ragged holes in them and leaves them connected like a chain link fence. Sometimes he REALLY grinds them all up into microparticles – you see. Shredding the paper along with a few regular postal envelopes lasted 50 sheets before I had to remove the top and redistribute the stack of paper that was piling up just below the blades. like a pyramid and began to block the passage of new leaves. After that I fed 6 leaves. opened and threw the pieces down. 6 more sheets. and so on until the basket is full - I stopped at 75 sheets. Not bad. I also have a Fellowes W-6C Cross shredder that has been running great for over 7 years. The only problem with this is that the shredded pieces are long enough to get tangled in your teeth and simply moving backwards doesn't remove most, taking me at least 10 minutes to get all the strips out with a pair. Tweezers. This new micro shredder is much better in the sense that the pieces are small enough to fall out of the teeth, but if you let the paper stack under the shredder's teeth (after 50+ sheets) they can fall back in , which is still not a big deal. , since reversing the cutter will remove most or all, and the next sheet you skip will pull them out with no problem. I just spent 1 hour grinding and had no problems at all. For me it worked almost continuously with 10 second rests between charges and didn't overheat. I like this grinder - I am very happy with it.
