Not bad! The instructions were easy to understand and the product was easy to assemble. I took extra care that the window I attached it to was actually a DOUBLE GLASS window. It seems that others who have had problems with suction cups not working have not noticed if their windows are double or not. First cleaned my window with Windex and also cleaned the suction cups; They carry themselves like champions, except for one. With this item, I took care and taped it to the window, which basically needed to "extend" the window sill frame. That said, the window sill was wide enough for cats to sit on but not rest on, and also only 10 inches off the floor (it was a large picture window in the front room). I thought: IF the suction cups don't last long, they won't fall that far. I should also note that this is the location I chose for the hot, large, south-facing window. Cats love to be HOT, especially in an air conditioned home! The only problem with the suction cup was the "side" parts, not the critical "suspension" parts that hold everything. Our biggest cat, Alex (18lbs!) squeezed in and only seemed to go outside to eat and pee. Another cat, Alistair (10 pounds), circles sadly around him, waiting for Alex to leave. He grabs the "Opera Box" as soon as it's released. So I'm considering getting another one soon. The removable suction cup turned out to be dusty, so I cleaned it again with Windex, washed the window, left the suction cup slightly damp and reinstalled it. No problem! Has been running for two weeks now and no further failures. The only thing I would have wished for from this thing was a "more fitting" lid. The version provided is like a pillowcase with one open end that doesn't fit very snugly and has a slit in the lip (open end) that causes sagging. Next time I go to a thrift store, I plan to buy two old towels and make a new, comfortable, "matching" comforter out of them. Otherwise, the mother cat wins again! wow mom
