Poor electrical design/HMI

Update: After a few days of use, one of my computer's ports broke. It will no longer accept input from this Sabrent USB switch or any other USB device! I am now very concerned about the electrical leakage issues I have seen in other reviews. Seriously, one of my laptop's USB ports accidentally and permanently broke out of nowhere after using this device. This product should be withdrawn from sale. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! ********************** I needed a USB switch so I could use my keyboard and mouse on different computers. Each is connected to a separate monitor and I don't need any other input devices on my desk. The cable with the connected selection button is too short. I want to get the switch box out of sight, but I can't because the dial button needs to be accessible. Why on earth would you put the source indicator LEDs on the switch and not the selector button? In addition, the LEDs are very small and dark. I appreciate that my workspace isn't lit by artificial light, but these LEDs are almost unsuitable for angled viewing when exposed to natural light or when you're not looking directly into the light. The rubber buffers on the underside of the junction box are not enough - the box slides all over the table. With all the cables coming out of it, it's a complete mess of cables that can't be tidied up. There are no pads on the dial box, so it dangles like a scorpion's tail. I don't want to clutter my desk or I'd wrap this plastic junk in velcro. Luckily I only have three computers connected so when cycling through options #4 it skips. I have an Xbox One connected to input #1 and oddly I have to cycle through this selection even with the Xbox turned off. I'd rather have 4 USB Type B ports on the back of the switch instead of wired cables. I'd rather plug in my own cables appropriate for the distance traveled or, more importantly, I'd prefer to forego cables for any of the four unconnected outputs. While the cost of KVM is *grossly overpriced* (it's cheaper to buy a dedicated monitor and USB switch than KVM), the cost of this item is also overpriced. I noticed that the price has skyrocketed after everyone has been working from home due to the COVID-19 virus. PRICE MANIPULATION! โ‚ฌ19.99 and I would be happy. For $34.99 I didn't get the value I wanted, but I'll keep it because it meets a few requirements. Sometimes when I switch outputs, my keyboard doesn't connect to my computer. The mouse tends to work all the time, but I will immediately notice, for example, that the Caps Lock or Num Lock indicators are frozen. You then have to go through all the options to get it working again. I would prefer to have a permanent "keep" connection to each computer. It's SUPER ANNOYING when all the beeps play when you unplug and plug peripherals into Windows and switch inputs. I have my own peripheral USB orchestra! If you fix all of the above, this is a 5 star product and costs $35. I am increasingly tempted to connect my own cables and LEDs to this device. I don't have time for this so I'm still annoyed with this product.
