I got these socks to help with toe separation/not bunching up, since my size 13 feet (avg. width) are "big" and tend to do that when I'm on my feet for a long time. (Those of us with bigger feet can understand!) I also had a bunion that wasn't horrible and these will help with my toe stretches during the day, even in shoes. As a bonus, with the covered toes not rubbing, there's less irritation from toes rubbing together.) These are stretchy and size "M" fit my size 13 feet comfortably.
