I have been polishing granite with this ENEACRO polishing machine. While the diamond polishing pads (purchased elsewhere) that I used with the polisher did NOT work satisfactorily, the polisher worked long and hard to achieve the shine that the discs were intended to produce. The speed range, although claimed to be 6 speeds, is a continuous rheostat thumbwheel with no detents. It provides the area most needed to polish just about anything. I haven't tried very hard to make the tool work harder, because for best results, let the bit, paper, pad, compound, whatever you use do the work at your pace. At the same time, the polishing machine did not heat up the engine unnecessarily. In three days I used the polisher for a total of about 16 hours to rest my arthritic hands, which also helped keep the gearbox at the right temperature (not overheating). ), as with any tool that has one: e.g. E.g. random orbital sanders, 4.5" sanders, jigsaws etc. The standard 5/8"-11 shank means it will fit almost any plate/pad. The range of included pads/caps will come in handy if I ever wax and polish my car, but I bought this to remove hard water fogging up around our kitchen sink and to polish our granite kitchen countertops - and it did its job great. There is black galactic granite) --- Don't do what I did. with sand too coarse to remove whitish mineral "mist" I started with wet and dry 320 grit silicon carbide paper because the grit is great for removing hard water rings in a toilet without damaging the porcelain glaze that I have had to just start with 3000 grit and finish with 6000 sc paper or diamond and then reseal i pl did so much unnecessary work for yourself starting at 320 because you have to go through all the intermediate steps to get back to get to endpoint 3 or 6000: 300,600,800,1200,1500,3000,6000.
