I bought these to hold the removable top of my project. They work and look very nice. The only thing that wasn't entirely clear because there were no instructions or guidelines was how to place both pieces for the correct tension. I just used trial and error. If you raise your hand at a 90° angle and hook it on the counterpart, you will most likely get a very strong tension and hold. Maybe too much. If you raise your arm 30°, there is almost no tension in the closed position. Around 45-60° seems to be best. Before proceeding with the finished project, try it out on a piece. Also keep in mind that they don't come with screws. I used #6 panorama heads.
