My kiddo needed a new winter jacket, and coming across this one I figured it would work at least to get them from one warm space to another. However, they said it was so "Toasty warm and like a hug from a blanket" that they didn't see why they wouldn't play outside in the snow, or clear snow while wearing it. This made me happy, as having different jackets for different purposes can be frustrating.To the touch it was soft and comfortable. There was some stretch to the fabric, so if you are slightly larger than an average medium it may still fit, while if you are strictly a medium there is no doubt it fits snug either way. It was a little difficult to line up and zip, at first I thought it was just a user issue - but when I tried it also didn't line up quickly and easily. We got it to work and once it was started it zipped up great the rest of the way. So I am thinking it is just the zipper, but doesn't not even close to a deal breaker.There are plenty of pockets and a hood. One thing to be aware of, the hood does not detach. If a hood would be annoying to you then this may not be the jacket for you. My kiddo doesn't mind them, it is a little big on their head - but, they are also still a child; I assume it would fit more appropriately on an adult. Honestly, the biggest issue would be that you can't wash it at home. This is NOT washer and dryer safe! You need to bring it to the dryer cleaner to get it washed. I feel considering it is a winter jacket and most people will be wearing it outside, having the ability to wash it at home would be a better option. This is where I docked it down a little.Overall, based on my kiddo's description of how warm they felt. And the simple fact that it fit without being too big, small, long or short this was a great item. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking for a new winter jacket - though, as a reminder -you can not launder at home, you need to get it dry cleaned.
