This coat has such a great zipper. It's hard to describe but very easy to close; The velcro is also very strong and doesn't stick to other things. The amount of warmth it provides is just right for an unusually cold Houston winter (25-35 degrees Fahrenheit). This is a very good quality dog hair; I wish I had bought it sooner. It is very color stable even after machine washing and air dries very quickly. I bought one for each of my Chihuahua mixes; Based on their coat size and measurements, they both wear a size 12; They are both larger than the standard Chihuahua. A slightly smaller dog got one from the wool in red tartan and will probably need a custom 11 (not an option though) as he is slightly smaller than the other dog: I think a 10 would be too cozy for him. It would be interesting to see if a 10 would fit him, but we're happy with the size.
