I bought these to protect the cupboards from dogs so my dog Pixel wouldn't climb in while I was away. She opens them with her nose when I'm not home and it makes me nervous because I keep cleaning supplies in them. I don't think she would chew them or anything, but it's better to be safe than sorry. They're great because I don't have to do anything other than slide them on and attach them to the handles. There are no glues, screws etc. This is a big plus as I am renting and I really don't want to leave any permanent damage or residue on anything. They are easy to use and easy to install and remove. Highly recommended for other pet owners looking for something to protect their closets if they are worried about their pup climbing into anything in their closets.
