Separating the threads was a headache and as other reviews have mentioned the threads are VERY long (probably about 6ft) but after the initial effort to separate the threads and close trimming them to suit their length, the project went very smoothly. I was able to finish in about a month and the stocking looks great. It should also be noted that this was my first embroidery project. I usually embroider cross stitches, maybe that's why I didn't have problems with thread and not with wool. The transition to the needle was pretty easy. I watched a few short YouTube videos to learn more about the different types of stitches and when to use them, which was helpful. I have already bought a second set and am looking forward to making another stocking.
