I use 16oz and 8oz bottles to dispense paint and varnish thinner. All of the flip top bottles I've ordered have been made from the right HDPE plastic that will withstand all the chemicals I've used in gesture creation and finishing, graphics, cars, guitar, and decoration. In the past I have ordered low density polyethylene bottles (L for #4 low density) and acrylic paint thinner that start to leak within a day or two and should only be used with water based fluids. Addendum: You should also note that #1 (PET) blown bottles (like plastic Coke bottles) usually contain thinner since they don't have the two-piece seam that injection molded parts have, which separate and leak after a short while.
