This popper replaces our 15 year old hot air popper. It does its job well and makes the popcorn much lighter (bigger pops) than the old one. However, the fan that blows air through the heating chamber is too powerful, it blows a lot of unroasted grains into the bowl. Although there is little left in the hot chamber afterward, there are quite a few in the bowl, and in most cases a grain or two will burst after being blown into the bowl. Exciting! UPDATE: It's been 2 weeks since I received this and I'm really frustrated by the number of times it failed to blow popcorn into the bowl and instead just piled up in the cooking chamber and ended up lifting the top. with devastating consequences. Popcorn and green corn would fly all over the room, sometimes exploding after hitting the floor. I could see how it works in a romantic comedy, but the third time I lose a role like this, I lose my sense of humor. If I downgraded my rating from 4 to 3 stars I would have returned it if it didn't make such good popcorn.
