When I decided to buy one I was worried about how strong the plastic part of the case would be and assumed that would be the weak link. It wasn't like that. I discarded the small ring and pushed the large ring straight through the plastic. My dog got out of the car before we put the leash on and did his triumphant speed run between the cars in the parking lot as he changed direction. , it was stuck to someone's bumper - the clip bent and broke but the plastic was in perfect condition. Also, I can attest that this helps keep the airTag dry as my cat dips it in water every day. I have to find another option for her because she is such a small cat, but a perfect choice for my dog!
