Repaired a DVD/CD spindle in 5 minutes
I have an expensive Yamaha DVD/CD 5 player that also supports SACD. Over time, it lost the ability to play DVDs and SACD became risky. (Kept on playing CDs pretty well.) I bought a Maxell disc which came in four days, which is good these days, and put it in the player. Some classical music starts - a young female voice tells you to go to track 3 - you go to track 3 and the voice tells you that the lens has been cleaned. For fun, I repeated the process three times. And voila, for now at least, DVDs play fine, as do SACDs. Of course it costs ten dollars.
