The tape is double sided so it doesn't matter which side you stick to. But I put the blue side down. Then remove half of the top and fold. Then remove and fold the other half. Spray the handle and strap with solvent. Put on. The best there is is a knife that makes the job very easy. Worst of all, the solvent bottle would not screw on or stay on at all. After swapping the handles, I threw it away and poured the contents into another bottle. It was lucky it wasn't spilled in transit but it was boxed. Good price if you don't mind the bottle problem. The strap is also about 1-2 inches shorter than I would like.
