I am a person who largely lives in his chair. LOL I eat there, I put on makeup and many other things that can potentially get messy. After 4 years of owning my chair, the armrests are still like new! They are easy to put on and take off for washing. I've washed it several times. They also matched my chair perfectly. What good are they if they don't stay where you put them? Because they are adapted for recliners, they stay in place. I think when it comes time to buy a new chair my armrests will still look brand new! No doubt I will have to replace the chair because the moving parts are worn out. That's the way it's meant to be, and not because the armrests are terrible.
