I have a VAV dryer at home that I bought for trips abroad because it is a two-volt dryer. I have very thick hair and am loyal to the VAV brand as this is the only lightweight hair dryer I have ever had that actually dries all my hair in a reasonable amount of time. This dryer has high and low settings and the high setting didn't suit me at all in 220 volt countries. It turned on very quickly and loudly, then after a few seconds it started to slow down and give off a burning smell. I quickly turned it off before the entire hair dryer could die. The low setting worked great and is not what is commonly referred to as a 'low' dryer setting. It was pretty powerful and dried my hair almost as fast as my homemade VAV hair dryer. It's easy to pack as it folds up and is lightweight. As a travel hair dryer, I was happy with this even if the high setting wasn't available. Totally satisfied for this price.
