Usually these gel palm rests are poorly made and start falling apart after a few months. However, this item is still holding up quite well after almost a year of heavy daily use. It's not a soft look though, which was one of the reasons I chose this model. I would say medium softness. But it's still comfortable for me, and like I said, I don't even have any signs of it being used for that long (see photos). I just wish they would make a version without those little holes all over the body that look a little weird on the wrist. The anti-slip surface on the bottom also does a great job of avoiding this movement when using my mouse, even in direct use. on the mouse pad itself, not on the table. So far very satisfied. However, if I can find a version without those little holes/bumps when it's at the end of its lifespan, I'll definitely go for it.
