I gave up and replaced the printer.

After struggling with clogs and constant printer errors, I gave up and replaced the printer. I am not sure if the problem was with the replacement ink of this brand. But I couldn't live with the ever-increasing prices for official Canon inks. Our previous Canon printer was pretty good until it wore out. But now Canon is following HP's model of selling cheap printers and pumping up ink prices. I now have a Brother laser printer. We'll see how it works.
