Review on Maximize Performance with Skechers Men's Go Golf Elite 3 Approach Shoe by Cesar Danger

Cheap laces failed and ruined good shoes.

These are good shoes but I couldn't believe the laces that came with them. I recognized them as the type that has an outer layer over an inner layer of multi-ply silk thread, much like a wrapped cable. These laces are cheap and it's only a matter of time before the inner protectors fail. While I had my doubts, I was hoping that maybe Skechers' top design would be an exception. Not so. They failed today after about 8 uses of the shoe in the 7 weeks I've had. Such a shame. Those are long laces and the shoes are useless if I can't find a replacement. The downside is that the inner threads appear to be unraveling and the outer layer isn't a 'support', so the whole thing stretches out into a long, useless segment with no strength. I would not recommend any shoe, including Skechers, with such cheap lacing.

Pros
  • Athletic
Cons
  • It's OK
