Review on Argon Raspberry Aluminum Heatsink Supports by Loud Forrest

Put simply, this is the best Raspberry Pi case I have ever seen and bought. A major annoyance I've always had with the RPI is the fact that the connectors are on all sides of the board, most notably the power and ethernet on two different sides. In many of my applications, this complicates wiring and positioning. The Argon40 has all connections on the back! Hooray! Finally! Another annoying annoyance is having to whip out my phone to turn off the system. Argon40 adds a power button to gracefully shut down the system! Hooray! Finally! Many fan housings are noisy. The Argon40 uses two very efficient cooling methods. One uses the case as a massive heatsink and the other uses a variable speed fan. This corresponds to QUIET OPERATION. Hooray! Finally! My only disappointment was not being able to use the POE board as the case is connected to all 40 GPIO pins. To get around this I bought a POE splitter where both Ethernet and USB-C cables are the same length. Since the Argon40 has both connections on the back, this makes for a clean install! The only caveat I have for people is to be careful when inserting connectors on a board that brings the connectors out the back as it requires some force and wouldn't be too heavy to cause permanent damage. The case is clearly designed for durability and left as is. I intend to. The particular system I've used Argon40 on is my primary (I have 2) PiHole/Unbound DNS servers. It is headless and powered by a Unifi switch via POE. Summary - I love it! The best case I've ever seen. EDIT: A potential issue with using it for 24/7 headless systems is that you have to press the power button to turn it back on after a power outage. This is obviously a big problem in my case as a power failure or even a simple switch reboot can leave me without DNS and VPN (well not 100% as I have 2 systems redundant but you get the point). I'll see if I can hack this amazing product to turn itself on when power is restored while still turning off smoothly at the touch of a button.
