Review on Adapter MicroSD Powered Microphone Warranty by Bruno Gilbert

Portable, lightweight hub. Maybe the price is a bit high.

I'm using this with a 16" Mac Book Pro but haven't checked the audio connection or the card readers. Pros: It's small and *very* light. If that's important to you, this is a good choice. USB-A ports work seamlessly with an external bus-powered mechanical drive. The HDMI port works great with a clean picture. The main USB-C connector provides a solid connection to my laptop. The blue LED looks cool. I mainly use it for standard USB accessories (dongle, mouse, external drive, etc.). So far it's been pretty reliable for me. Cons: The Apple USB SuperDrive Writer/Reader is not powered. I don't know if there are other bus-operated hubs. There are issues with them (maybe they need more power) but this one won't power that so this guy has to plug directly into my MBP with its own USB to USB-C adapter. It's very light - which is good - but it kind of slides on the table and doesn't feel particularly sturdy. The bottom seems to have a rubber edge or something to keep it on your table. Another check revealed that the labels were reversed. It's probably more accurate to say that their logo was mistakenly(?) printed on the bottom instead of the top, as the USB ports appear to line up correctly with their labels. My USB devices are inserted right side up and label up as they should. Not a big deal, but a quality control detail that probably should have been spotted. I assumed the logo would be facing up and this forced me to plug it in upside down the first time until I noticed that the connectors and labels were oriented the other way. given a small QC idiosyncrasy. There are many competitors in the $29-$39 range. I appreciate that it is so small and light and easy to carry. Editors Keys is a small company based in England that makes smart products for the audio and video industry, so I didn't mind spending a little more on their hub than I would on an obscure brand.

Pros
  • Ultra-fast microSD/SD card reader hub with speeds up to 480Mbps for fast video and audio file transfers, supports UHS-I and UHS-II cards.
Cons
  • weak
