Update: as I returned this specimen and I have not ordered another, the review below is still the most accurate I have for this model and I would advise caution - HOWEVER I have since had the Getaria Pro 5.8 model at https:// www .amazon.com/Wireless-Transmitter-Receiver ordered -Getaria-Channels/dp/B08PHKFP6G/ and so far it works very well and I highly recommend it based on my experience! --- ------------------- I've been using the 2.4MHz versions of these headphones from Getaria for a while and have successfully used them with my Ibanez bass active pickup . The connector on the transmitter broke a few months ago so I had to buy new ones. I chose the 5.8 GHz version. to reduce possible interference and potentially improve sound quality. My first impressions were favorable for the sound quality and battery life. Unfortunately, after a week there were two problems that I could not overcome. 1) The transmitter will not reliably reconnect to the receiver if the transmitter is powered off and the receiver is in "sleep mode" for 40-50 minutes. 2) Intermittent feedback/buzz on all channels that can only be fixed by turning off the receiver and transmitter. More on these topics below: 1) We have a 40-50 minute break between our sets and to conserve battery life on my bass guitar which drains battery power when something is plugged into the jack I turn off and unplug the transmitter from the network. This avoids an audible pop in the sound system by simply removing it directly. To avoid popping noises in the system, I don't turn off the receiver, which stays connected to my direct box. The receiver switches to standby/standby mode (blue LED flashes). Then I come back after 40-50 minutes, plug in the transmitter and turn it on again. This is the same procedure I did with the 2.4MHz models and never had a problem. Unfortunately, on this model, when I turn the transmitter back on, 9 times out of 10 the receiver will not reconnect until I turn the receiver (which produces amplified sound) off and on again. Changing channels on the receiver and transmitter does nothing. . Only switching the receiver off and on again solves this problem. If I only recently turned off the transmitter, I've never had this problem. However, if the transmitter has been turned off or has been in the off state for more than 30-40 minutes, it will not be able to reestablish communication with the receiver without turning off the receiver. I can probably fix this by adding a silent switch between the receiver and the straight box, but I didn't have to and didn't do that on the 2.4 model. 2) Periodically (maybe 1 in 10 times) when the devices are successfully paired, a sharp hum will be heard with each note played. This can only be remedied by completely switching both devices off and on again. Summary: While it's always hard to tell, it looks like these 5.8 units could be sharper than the 2.4 model, so I'm reluctant to go back to that but don't know what to do . Do it now. I will likely have to return this unit before the return window closes, but I am not sure if this unit is defective and I should request another one, or just try a different manufacturer's model. I wouldn't want to do this because Getaria worked great for me on the 2.4 model, but this model might have more issues.
