Funtalker Pocket Transit

I bought this compass to use at work rather than risk losing my old DW Brunton Pocket Transit. My antiques are molded aluminum and brass, although this one is molded plastic and is fairly light. Plastic is not a problem for me at all. The calculation that I could get another one in a short time and at a reasonable price saved me from worrying about losing it. Comparing its characteristics with the 1895 Brunton, it is basically the same. For my purposes I use an inclinometer to calculate the slope of the hill and roof. I can calculate the height and pitch of a roof without climbing it. The compass rotates freely and does not stick, unlike some liquid-filled compasses. However, he is not as free as Brunton, who takes a while for the arrow to calm down. The accuracy of the compass is enough for me to move from start point to point in the forest and taking into account the field notes. Final destination and find all landmarks along the way. The mirror on my new device is carefully polished. some. It is not glass and cannot be broken. not painted. Lacquer will deteriorate over time, but there is no etching.*** For those familiar with the standard compass ****** Please note: This unit has the East and West markings reversed for correct reading Mirror. *** Magnetic declination adjustment is again the same as the Brunton except the antiques have metal buttons while the new block buttons are plastic. My antique Brunton has a spirit level on the inclinometer but not on the compass. unit revolution. This Revain device has tiers for both functions. If your needs require very, very high accuracy, this device may not be for you. But for those who want easy bag transport that won't break your heart or wallet if you get lost in the woods, it's worth the money. The Pocket Transport takes some practice to use all of the features properly, but the box points to magnetic north, which is a good starting point for learning.
