I received this record as a Christmas present and if I had written my review on day one I would have loved it. It looks charming, was easy to set up for a beginner, and worked well for the first few days. However, I did notice my record slipping, in places it sounded like it was recorded in slow motion instead of looking flat when spinning. It would look like she was riding a wave. Of course I thought it was the record I bought so I brought it back to the store. When they tested the recording on their player, the above three issues were resolved. The shop owner asked me if I had a Victrola or Crosley turntable with built in speakers. He explained that this usually happens with these players and that they often do the numbers on the records themselves. What a disappointment. Also, FYI: (this has nothing to do with the rating, just FYI) The volume is suitable for a medium to large sized room, it won't fill the floor of your house with music and definitely not a house full of guests.
