I'm not a chemist so I can't analyze what is actually removed. I recently moved back in with my family during COVID and couldn't believe they were drinking water from Charlotte, NC. I understand this is America and we shouldn't complain compared to other countries but dude the water could use a little less chemicals. Pu-erh, oolong, green tea or Darjeeling tea with city water. My taste buds were so numb I thought I had COVID. I've drunk well water in Vermont that got sulfuric over the seasons, but otherwise fine. In short, this filter brought back the taste of my tea :) Also, my dad's dog likes it more. Things I think might help plumbers: You don't need a large 1 3/8" hole to drill the sink. 3/4"-1" will do and I think is best The faucet rim is only slightly larger than the recommended 1 3/8" size, so if your faucet is used and moved frequently it will expose a hole that can leak over time. Also, the white hose that comes with the filter simply slides into the filter holes. They have no fasteners, you just have to make sure you push it all the way in. The instructions could be clearer on this.
