I am a very picky listener. With my Sennheiser HD 500 headphones, I extensively tested listening to music in various genres and compared the quality with and without this control cable. I listened carefully to the picture, distortion at all frequencies, hiss, attack, decay etc. but couldn't detect it with or without the cable. it looks like a real passport without any additional processing. The middle slider works as expected. You can pause, skip ahead 10 seconds, restart a track, or skip to the next track. Louder and quieter works as expected. I tested it on my Samsung Android phone and iPod 4.
