that might have been a little better but also a lot louder

I used to use the Norelco rotary type and never thought about it. I've been experimenting with Braun for the past ten years, it might have been a little better, but it was also a lot louder. The last razor was another Norelco (9200) and being new it certainly worked great until it broke. I don't know what changed with them, maybe it started when Philips bought them, but whatever the reason, the quality of their blades went away after about a month. Of course it was too late to go back, so I decided to go beyond the 'big two' and give Panasonic a try. Just. Wow. Sure, it's still the honeymoon phase (1 week), but it's way better than Norelco or Braun ever did. The real test, however, will be how well his blade will stand the test of time. I'll update this review in 6-12 months and let you know, but so far so good. UPDATE October 2017: I am still very impressed with this razor. Sounds banalβ€”it's just a razorβ€”but as I got older, I really hated shaving. With the Arc5 I no longer fear the rotary hell I went through before, shave and shave and almost nothing happens. The Arc5 is three months old and is still cutting as well as it did on day one. I'm really looking forward to using it - it's like driving a very nice car after decades of only being content with 'good' transportation.
